Pat this is such a coincidence….I’ve had some issues with one particular person in my life: I can’t seem to forgive him but I really miss being mates with him. These last couple of days I’ve been thinking about getting in touch again to see if he’s changed (although part of me just wants to yell at him as I never really got across how angry and disappointed I was). But you’re right….LET GO! I’ve got so many awesome and supportive mates, I need to show them how much I appreciate them rather than trying to give this one bad egg more and more chances. Your blog came just when I needed it - thanks xx
Hey Pat, that’s a wicked idea. I was thinking that just a minute ago - at the cafe at my sports centre / gym they sell cookies, brownies, muffins and tea cakes and I just thought what would be so difficult about giving us a tasty, healthy option? Seed and nut bars and like £2 for two square inches…nuts, literally.
I expect you might have come across the chef Jamie Oliver while you were in the UK? He’s done a lot to raise awareness of healthy eating on television and in the community. He got the government to give a massive grant to schools to help them put healthier ingredients in their school dinners, and started a “pass it on” sort of cooking club where he taught 6 people how to cook easy healthy meals, then each of those 6 people teach another 6 people, and so on. I’m sure he’s done other stuff too. Look him up I’m sure you’d get some ideas.
Also, anyone know what a hear now message is?
Jenna :-)
man this isn’t new age-y; this is ancient stuff…how do you think the Egyptians built the pyramids? they were the original “Yes” Men xxxx
so so true man….it happens in sport too - you’re rubbish and everyone’s your best mate, then you get good, start wooping your mates’ butts and then the hating starts (we’d use a different word for it in the UK but I won’t write in on here). Then you start feeling miserable, doubting yourself and hating what you do - and you end up going backwards till you’re rubbish again. The trick, alegedly, is to remember that they are being hurtful to make themselves feel stronger and to knock you down again - but it’s easier said than done!! On the other hand, there are always one or two who are always there with love and to love back and that’s what’s beautiful about the world. “Words, they’ll try to shake you…..” :-) xxxx
That’s an amazing idea…I’m in London and Richmond Park has an awesome 10km route. I’m in the GB kayak team and we LOVE Train - we do a 10km time trial run as part of our training every other week so I’m sure we could twist our coach’s arm so we could join in with this - we could drag the GB hockey and rowing guys in on it too!! You said you’d be over here again in the spring so you could do it then - just make sure it doesn’t coincide with any of our training camps or competitions please :-)) ……..oh LOVE TO TRAIN - how does that sound?! xxxx
